A winter adventure session in Leavenworth, Washington
When we moved here everyone told us we had to go to Leavenworth in the winter, and I mean we HAD to go. We were told it was the perfect, quaint, Bavarian style town. Leavenworth itself turned out to be quite an adventure, not to mention this awesome, winter adventure session.
We woke up as early as we could manage for a Sunday, and drove up to Leavenworth on a beautiful, snowy day. There was rain in the forecast all week except that one day so we definitely felt lucky. We scoped out a gorgeous wedding venue, a winery on a hilltop overlooking the mountains and sat by a cozy fireplace.
By the time we hit the main street, fluffy snow blanketed the whole street. We were in love! The town mirrors a classic Bavarian town with it’s architecture and restaurants. People filled the shops and were spilling out onto the main street. We listened to the choir sing Christmas songs, and sipped hot cocoa waiting for the Christmas tree lighting
To be honest, we had not planned on doing any adventure session in Leavenworth for these two. Jeremy and Lauren are our best friends, we’ve been a family for years, and our plan was to spend the day enjoying the snow the shopping and the holiday spirit. But we couldn’t resist once we saw a gorgeous, snowy walking path leading out to a half frozen lake. A winter adventure session was too hard to say no to in such a beautiful place.
So we dove into a winter adventure session! We threw snowballs at each other and hiked around through the snow. I just wanted to capture one good shot, but their happiness was too much to put the camera down. We did a whole winter adventure session for the books!
