How lucky am I to get to take photos with these beauties again?! I was able to capture them in Portland, and then they asked us to join them for their Cape Kiwanda elopement photos! Olivia and Mark traveled out to the Oregon Coast where they had their engagement photos to do their wedding portraits. Cape Kiwanda is one of our favorite elopement spots in the world! You can check out the rest of them on our travel blog
The Cape Kiwanda Elopement adventure
It was pouring rain the whole drive to the Oregon Coast. Alex and I kept telling ourselves, “it’ll be fine”, checking the weather on our phones obsessively, hoping for one tiny break in the rain. Despite our desperate prayers to the photography Gods, we got there and it was a torrential downpour. We could hardly see ten feet in front of us. After parking at the Pelican Brewing Company, went inside where they were waiting for us. We got inside and Olivia and Kyle were sitting at the bar. Their hands were intertwined, and they were giggling like there was no one else was there.
I instantly was sorry I had doubted this amazing couple even for a second. Olivia said the rain was just part of the adventure, and a chance to let her hair down, to stop caring about the little things. She said it was almost the perfect recipe for the adventurous Cape Kiwanda elopement style photos they wanted. We all downed a shot for liquid courage, and ventured out the cliffs.
They’re those people that take off their shoes and jump in the water, that don’t care how soaking wet they’re getting in the pouring rain, and they never stop laughing. They popped champagne, ran around the slippery cliffs, hugging and loving on each other and making each other laugh. They are goals.
This Cape Kiwanda elopement was photographed by Life in Motion Photo and Film. An Oregon elopement photographer.
